In
1995 Maryo, a traditionally trained oil painter and
printmaker, lost the sight in her right eye.
The loss of depth perception and ability to see fine
detail affected her work greatly. About a year before
she became partially sighted, however, she began experimenting
with a new medium - the computer.
Over
the next several years, with much trial and error, she
painstakingly retrained herself to paint in the digital
medium.
Her
traditional training gave her the solid foundation and
structure to created balanced and harmonious compositions
- while still allowing her artistic vision to burst
through in color, shape and line.
